Title: A date
with your dog in San Diego

Brief
summary of Users: I
had two of my roommates and one of my coworkers look at my website. My
roommates had heard about what my site was going to be about, but did not know
the exact details. My coworker had no idea what the site was going to be about.
Think
Aloud test: I had all three users explore the site
and find a place they would want to bring their dog. I asked them to identify
the address of the places and give me feedback on whether or not I gave enough
description of the places
Summary
of Think Aloud: The first user found the titles of the
different links very clever. She clicked on beaches and her first comment was “wow
I don’t know where to look first, it is kind of cluttered.” The second user
reacted the same way, saying “I think there should be an intro paragraph
describing what this link will be about. All three users commented on the
background pictures, they thought the dogs were very cute. They all found the
navigation easy, but two out of the three users said they thought there would
be more content.
Post
test interview: After interviewing all three users I
found that all three found similar problems with my site. Three out of three
users found the font I used distracting. Also, the formatting of the text was
hard to discriminate. Two out of three users suggested I separate the headline
of the different places from the content. For example, under beaches you can
see the three different dog beaches in San Diego with content below. The headline
is on the same line as the rest of the content and that needs to be separated.
One user gave a suggestion that each place on the website should be listed in
alphabetical order. In addition, one user suggested I add a contact or
biography page to explain why I wanted to make this site.
Findings
to be implemented:
·
I plan to implement the organizational
features all three of my users commented on. The headline needs to be clearer
and the information in paragraph form.
·
I plan to put each location in
alphabetical order as well.
·
I will add a contact or biography page
describing why I wanted to make this site and what that experience was like.
Findings
that will not be implemented:
I will probably implement everything my friends have
said, they gave me great feedback.
